It was 1975 I started the Need to Know Project at South Hackney School.
Need to Know has taken on rather another meaning if google is to be gone by, I had wanted to call the project the Right to Know, but the British Library decided that was too political.
Forty years later, I'm rather returning to the matter, so see how things have developed, and the first brainshell is that as I was in South Hackney, I wasn't in South London, and that might have changed my approach. It seems to me that when doing design, some things are intrinsicly more difficult than others, and that before one has designed something, which simplifies, this isn't clear, for one may fail utterly; after one has designed something, the old difficulty has gone away, and is no longer apparent. This makes evaluation difficult
