Lawrence Scott will read from his new new collection of tales and will be in conversation with Dr Lucy Evans
Lawrence Scott is a prize winning novelist and short story writer. In 2012 he was awarded a Lifetime Literary Award by the National Library of Trinidad & Tobago. His previous titles include the novels Witchbroom, Aelred’s Sin, Night Calypso and Light Falling on Bamboo and the short stories Ballad for the New World. He also edited Golconda: our voices our lives an anthology of oral-histories from the sugar belt in Trinidad.
Dr Lucy Evans is a Lecturer in Postcolonial Literature at the University of Leicester, UK. Her monograph, Communities in Contemporary Anglophone Caribbean Short Stories was published by Liverpool University Press in 2014. She also co-edited The Caribbean Short Story: critical perspectives (2011) and a special issue of Moving Worlds ‘Crime Across Cultures’ (2013).
