I read the SEDAJISC mails regularly, sometimes with alerted interst, sometimes with wry amusement but rarely, at my age of 79, with an urge to participate in the forum. Alison James' recent email shook off my dull sloth....
I have attached a PDF of a text Sarah Edmunds (at University of Chichester) and I wrote for engineers. The examples are for engineers but the the accounts of quantitative and wualitative methods fit any subject. Unit Two provides a brief answer to her question. The book is on 'Open Access' So if any one wants to use the book or pirate it (preferably with acknowledgement to us), then please do so. Let me know if you want a hard copy. My email is [log in to unmask] The text might even be of use to insomniacs.........
