We are currently advertising a short-term position (from 6 to 9 months) in the structural molecular modelling group of the « Structure and Function of Biological Membranes » laboratory at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Brussels, Belgium).
The team: We investigate the molecular mechanisms of the function and regulation of channels and transporters, in particular the voltage-gated anion channel (VDAC) and transporters pertaining to the APC superfamily by means of different theoretical approaches such as Molecular and Brownian Dynamics, and Docking.
The project: The candidate will work on the understanding of the molecular mechanisms of bacterial and yeast amino acid transporters. This work will be performed in close collaboration with one experimental group.
The applicant: should have a Master (or a recent PhD) degree in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, computer science or a related field. Experience in molecular modeling and/or computer programming ability is a plus.
Candidates are invited to send their application including CV, letter of motivation and the names of two references to Martine Prévost ([log in to unmask])
Starting date: Beginning of January 2015 at the earliest
