There is already a Wordpress plugin which supports the inclusion of
searches of Modes data files, and the generation of hit lists and
detailed search results, so you don't need to look elsewhere for this
functionality.

Absolutely. Note that Modes Complete has a built-in Culture Grid export
facility.
