Job reference: REQ003190
Application closing date: 13/02/2015
Salary: £30,438 - £38,517 per annum
Full-time
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team of Academic Liaison Librarians at Coventry University. The team has recently moved into a new and innovative Library space, the Disruptive Media Learning Lab (DMLL), working alongside education researchers and academic staff on projects to innovate in teaching. We are seeking two new colleagues to join us to offer professional support to the University's teaching and learning strategy as well as our newly launched research agenda. You will be a confident, proactive, and adaptable individual who will play a key role in the development of Academic Liaison services and the evolution of the DMLL. You will have responsibility for developing relationships with academic staff and students in your designated subject areas, which will be in the Faculty of Engineering and Computing in the first instance, as well as with other university services. You will also be expected to manage and enrich our resource provision through management of the relevant subject collections and associated budgets.
You will plan and deliver teaching sessions within the curriculum and develop learning materials in support of delivery. You will be creative and enthusiastic about the application of learning technologies to deliver innovative support, and open to new ideas in teaching. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to Library wide initiatives and project work to further service development and in support of the DMLL.
You will possess a recognised qualification in librarianship or information management, with experience of delivering high quality information services and project work. The ability to teach and deliver effective embedded information literacy, and confidence in teaching small and large groups is required. While it would be helpful to have a background in supporting Science and Engineering subjects this is not essential. A proactive attitude, a passion for teaching, confidence with technology and the desire to provide an excellent service to our stakeholders are the key attributes required.
