[Notes are in https://etherpad.wikimedia.org/p/requirements_analysis]
We have nearly finished our review of the DC RDF AP requirements. Today
we reviewed the Use Case (developed by Stefanie - thanks!) on meta
requirements - meaning requirements that related to the AP itself, not
the data.[1] Here are some decisions that we took today:
1) How the AP defines valid values (R-30)
-- we have three ways that we think valid values can be defined:
1- a list of literals
2- a URI pattern
3- a type - this is primarily to say that a value must be an instance
of a SKOS concept scheme, but there may be other uses
We will combine these into a single requirement (although the "how-to"
may not be complete). Note that W3C is probably going to come up with a
way to do this, and we can defer to that.
2) Requirements for presentation/UI
We declared requirements 212-213, 215-219 out of scope. These
requirements are specific to individual applications, such as the order
of properties on an input form, or the size of input boxes.
217 is the order of data in a data set or application, and we decided
that this is very complex in RDF and we would keep an eye on the W3C
work and also the Hydra community,[2] because they are both grappling
with this.
3) Added requirements
R-223 Value is Valid for Datatype

R-224 instance-level data validation exploiting class/property
specialization axioms in ontologies

R-225 Validation of associated classes in one Description Set

We will meet again next week, Jan 13, to try to finish up the
requirements analysis. I will send out the webex link today. I will also
attempt to summarize what we have done in a more digestible form than
the current etherpad, which is full of notes and musings.
Thanks to all on today's call, and anyone who comments, replies, or
thinks hard about these issues. Comments and discussion always welcome.
