Dear Seraphim,
Thanks for alerting me to this issue, I look forward to reading what look like some very interesting articles and well done editing it. I'm sure it was a lot of work. I was very interested in your positive experience of the editing process. I was recently asked to review a paper for this journal but not for your issue. Firstly, I was surprised that you 'know' who is the author is but in theory they don't know the identity of the reviewer. This was interesting because, though the author was not known to me, on investigation I discovered it was someone with considerable power and influence in this field. Frankly if the article had been 'blind', I would have rejected the paper outright. I did not but suggested major revisions. I did not find it a comfortable process.
Are you surprised it is not 'blind' for both authors and reviewers?
Secondly, I managed to find a list of the papers that were given at your Cycling and Society Symposium but I could not find any papers or presentations on line. Are they up anywhere?
Many thanks,
