Dear Gilli,
I too have been advised to refer to G-Cloud for online storage of our photographic archive. As far as I can gather the G-cloud is the approved supplier framework for purchasing the appropriate service, from which you can then procure the service you need. The list of suppliers seems to be quite long so I haven't found it particularly easy to find a supplier.
The search below is as far as I have got.

I have not got much further than that yet, so would equally be keen to hear of anyone else's experience.
The Museums Computer Group's JISCmail list might be an alternative place to find some opinion.

Subject: G-Cloud storage for archives
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience of using G-Cloud for digital storage? Our council has just suggested that they may be more favourable towards us using that than us using the SAN for digital storage space for our image collections. Does anyone use G-Cloud and if so, what are their experiences like?
