1. ALT News

1.1 ALT is launching a new Annual Survey. The survey is open for responses now and will close on Sunday, 15 January 2015.

2.1 OER15 Conference, 14 – 15 April 2015, Cardiff UK – Register now!
The Open Education Conference is an International Conference organised by a volunteer committee from the Open Education Community. OER15 is hosted by OER Wales Cymru, Universities Wales and the Association for Learning Technology and will focus on ‘Mainstreaming Open Education’.

3.1 PhD Survey - Use of Blogs for Teaching and Learning - This PhD study is considering the use of blogs by students within HE. If you have students who are using blogs as part of their studies please could you ask them to complete this survey http://go.alt.ac.uk/10lvbK5.

3.2 Catherine Cronin, recent ALT Annual Conference Keynote Speaker, facilitated a workshop: ‘Considering openness’ on 13 October 2014 with academic staff at GMIT (Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology) to share some of the ideas from Navigating the Marvellous: openness in education presentation.

4.1 TELL US - Technology enhanced Trans European Learning Competition
Do you have an innovative product or service in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning? The European TELL US competition is open to large enterprises as well as SMEs, web-entrepreneurs, students, professors and all actors in education with prizes up to the value of €30,000.

4.2 Lecture Capture: Building the Evidence Base, 17th December 2014, Loughborough University.This workshop provides participants with an opportunity to engage in conversation around the evidence base for the value of lecture capture, stimulated by informal presentations by practitioners from across HE. Presentations will cover both institution-wide and small-scale studies.

5.3 Australasian Journal of Educational Technology (AJET) 
Special Issue 2015 - Call for Papers Educational design research for technology supported post-secondary learning. 5.4 2015 EFMD Higher Education Research Conference - Call for Papers by
Said Business School, University of Oxford, The theme of the conference will be:
“The Legitimacy and Impact of Business Schools and Universities”. Submission of research works are invited by deadline of 27 February 2015. At the end of the conference, the best papers will be invited for a submission to a special issue of a peer-reviewed journal.
