The Statistics and Probability group at Durham University is offering an open-topic PhD position, starting 1st of October
2015, for a duration of 3.5 years. The successful student would carry out research within a field of interest of a member of
the group, see

Postgraduate students at Durham University are part of a stimulating and research-focused environment, as exemplified by
postgraduate seminar series, conferences, and an extensive network of collaborations with other Departments from which many
PhD projects are benefiting. Students have access to high-quality postgraduate training through our membership in APTS
(Academy for PhD Training in Statistics), as well as training events organized jointly with other universities in the North
East.
The candidate would be expected to have at least a 2:1 degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related subject with a strong
quantitative component. Students from the UK are eligible for full funding (tuition fees and subsistence), while students
from EEA countries are eligible for a scholarship which waives their tuition fees only. The funding will be provided by
Research Council grants awarded to the Department.
