Statistician - Research Associate

We are seeking a statistician to work on studies of the genetics of breast cancer. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team based within the Centre for Cancer Genetic Epidemiology at Strangeways Research Laboratory, Cambridge, a leading centre in the genetic epidemiology of cancer. A particular focus of the work will be the Oncoarray project, 500k marker array that has been genotyped on more than 100,000 women within the Breast Cancer Association Consortium. The post holder will, however, also have the opportunity to be involved in other projects, including sequence analysis, and methodological development.
Applicants should have an MSc or PhD in statistics epidemiology or genetic epidemiology or equivalent experience. Experience with methods in statistical genetics, and working in a Unix/Linux environment would be a strong advantage. Knowledge of bioinformatics tools, programming in R and/or a high-level language would also be desirable.
