IO is a machine learning Demand Side Platform (DSP) which uses programmatic media to deliver performance, brand awareness and insights to digital advertisers.
Now is an exciting time to be joining the team at IO. We are applying big data analytics to real time bidding software technologies within the field of digital advertising. We are currently expanding and looking to complement our existing team of software engineers, scientists and data analysts with a statistical modeller.
Requirements:
Qualifications
PhD in Mathematical Sciences
Knowledge
Solid grounding in statistical and predictive modelling with at least a basic understanding of generalised linear models Deep understanding of Bayesian machine learning and networks, Markov chain Monte Carlo methods and variational inference
Skills
Familiarity with Big Data tools and techniques; expertise in modern scientific programming in Python with Numpy (and/or potentially Scala) and knowledge of Machine Learning libraries such as Scikit, Mahout and PyMC would be desirable; experience with a statistical language such as R is also essential Understanding of software project management is also desirable Commercial awareness

Good interpersonal skills: ability to communicate complex concepts Team player who has the ability to lead, and work as a fully contributing member of a team Possess excellent innovative problem solving skills Confidence, enthusiasm and with the energy to make a significant contribution in an organisation This position is based out of the IO Intelligent Optimisations main office in central Plymouth, next to the sea. Salary will be dependent on skills and experience.
