Moonlight Mile is a favourite of mine too, Doug but it's pipped by the Doors' Moonlight Drive.

Let's swim to the moon, uh huh 
Let's climb through the tide 
Penetrate the evenin' that the 
City sleeps to hide

Parked beside the ocean 
On our moonlight drive

Tim, I am intrigued by your comments on the difference between The Stones and The Doors. (Gee, I nearly typed The Stores and The Drones then.) It is true that Morrison approached performance as drama whereas Jagger is more a posturer (a damned fine one mind you). Doug, the two Stones albums I play most, besides Sticky Fingers, are Let it Bleed and Beggar's Banquet but I wouldn't say the songs plough into my unconsciousness. Canadia's (!) own Neil Young is more likely to do that for whatever the reason.
