Post-communist Experiences in Europe: Cinema, Identity and Memory - Seminar and screening

Twenty-five years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, this event explores cinema, identity and memory in communist and post-communist Europe. The seminar presentations will discuss experiences of cinema in the former Yugoslavia, DDR, Romania and Armenia. The speakers, all based in the Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media (CREAM) at the University of Westminster, include award-winning filmmaker Mila Turajlic; artist-filmmaker Uriel Orlow; art historian Prof. Kerstin Mey; film researcher Adina Bradeanu; and filmmaker Luis Machado.
The discussion will be followed by a screening of Mila Turajilik’s CINEMA KOMUNISTO (100 mins, Serbia, 2010) at 6pm.
