"OK lads its finished! All we now need to do is dig a big hole in the middle."
"So we can put this big pot into it."
"What's the pot for?"
"Its is a time pot!"
"A what pot?"
"It is a pot filled up with everyday things that we bury in the ground."
"Oh, a ritual offering!"
"No, don't be so ridiculous!"
"Well, what is it for?"
"It is so that when people dig up the pot in perhaps a few thousand
years time they will discover how we lived."
"But won't they be living in exactly the same way as we are living today?"
"Well, they might not!"
"How will they not?"
"They might have invented things to make life different."
"Why would they do that? We haven't invented anything new for
thousands of years so why would people start doing so in the future?"
"There is bronze!"
"Yeah but that was hardly a life changer. We still grow wheat and live
in mud huts, don't we?."
"I suppose you're right."
"OK forget the hole!"
