Dear Salu,
Many thanks.
Yes, I delight in Kari's work and it needs disseminating more broadly in
these discussions. His paper on 'HCI and design: uncomfortable bedfellows?',
particularly his diagram on triple-mediatedness of artefacts seems to map
well into participatory design issues in this thread.
Apologies for including Finland in Scandinavia, I should perhaps have used
'Nordic Countries'?
Best regards,
Terry

Dear Terry et al.,
I'd like to point out Prof. Kari Kuutti's works in the context of
information systems design and Activity Theory. (It is from the Scandinavian
design research community - with some good will you may think Finland also
belonging to Scandinavia, at least it's hugging it)
You can find his papers here: https://oulu.academia.edu/KariKuutti/Papers
Kind regards,

as Jinan has raised, that studying children has offered substantial
understanding of improving design as many design theories including those of
Activity Theory, ANT and Flow developed their design theories on the basis
of their study of children.
