3 - 3.45 PM: ‘Sickle Cell Disease: The Family Legacy and Africanus Horton Story’ with Sickle Cell Society
The National Health Service Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Screening Programme’s outreach to raise awareness of sickle cell disease, testing, the myths and stigma surrounding the condition
4.30 - 5.15 PM : Gospel Aerobics
Embracing identity and culture to support a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Practical tips on how to make small changes to improve your health, whilst balancing the pressures of modern life.
5.15 - 6 PM: Women of Colour make up tutorial by UCLU Make Up Society
UCLU Make Up Artistry Society will show you how to create a wearable day look followed by a night time smokey eye with a nude lip, perfect for going out!
6 - 6.45: Funmi Braids
Whether you admire fashionable hair statements or you prefer modest hair designs, our workshops offer insight into the origins of West African headdress, hair braiding, cornrows and thread techniques.
6 - 6.45: Beauty Branding Basics! The Ethnic Beauty Opportunity
This workshop will help aspiring beauty entrepreneurs, beauty professionals and those with an interest in the industry develop a basic but effective branding strategy and valuable insider tips on how to make a headway in the fast moving but rewarding and very, very lucrative British Beauty Industry!
