Julia (http://julialang.org/) is a high-level, high-performance
dynamic programming language for technical computing, with syntax that
is familiar to users of other technical computing environments. It
provides a sophisticated compiler, distributed parallel execution,
numerical accuracy, and an extensive mathematical function library.
This tutorial will give a hands-on introduction to the language.
Course requirements:
All participants will need to bring their own laptop. They should
install version 3.0.1 of Julia prior to the workshop. It is assumed
that all participants have programmed with at least one other
programming language and are familiar with loops, conditionals and
functions.
Registration with payment is required - registration also includes
access to the afternoon session on Statistical Computing Languages.
Organiser Name Colin Gillespie (http://www.mas.ncl.ac.uk/~ncsg3/)
