Hi Pete,
It depends how far back one is going. Also on which aspect of cycling.
Suggestions
- Cycle Superhighway 7 (one of the first and almost certainly the busiest) runs through Southwark (Elephant and Castle) en route to the City.
- Southwark Quietway (under consultation) http://www.southwark.gov.uk/info/200431/street_improvements/3571/quietway_waterloo_to_greenwich
- Ongoing verbal spat between local MP (Kate Hoey) and London Cycling Campaign re. cycling along the Southwark bits of the Embankment (this may also spread into Lambeth)
This might be utterly wide of the mark, but hope it is of some use.
GW

Subject: Shameless Trivia request
Hello,
Shameless request for cycling trivia, does anyone know of anything interesting in Cycling's history which happened in Southwark, London? It is to help out a friend, for a reason I can explain later if necessary. To jog your collective memory, Southwark is Borough, Bankside, Bermondsey, Rotherhithe, Camberwell, Peckham, Dulwich, Nunhead, Herne Hill. (And yes, I have already thought of the velodrome)
Not sure if this is a little bit inappropriate as request, please do say if this is off-topic.
Best,
Pete
