I think the ³thing" here is a very large snake with very large fangs - so
large they could go clear thru Keith at his fattest part.
If I had another life-time I might talks about all kinds of THINGS
and
I might talk about actors/actants/ factors/factants agents/agants and
sundry other THINGS
