Argonne National Laboratory’s Materials Sciences Division has a great opportunity for a Postdoctoral Appointee who will conduct research in projects involving in their size- and composition well defined nanoscale catalysts and nanostructured materials catalyst testing using mass spectrometry, X-ray characterization of clusters and nanoparticles during the course of the reaction controlled assembly of clusters into hierarchical functional multidimensional structures. Work may include projects with industry, instrumentation development for materials synthesis by cluster deposition and catalyst testing.
* Doctorate and 0 years work experience.
* Experience with the physical synthesis and characterization of well-defined supports and nanoclusters, UHV techniques.
* Demonstrated capability in working independently, as well as in interdisciplinary teams.
* Experience with X-ray techniques, mass spectrometry and/or electrochemistry a plus.
* Written and oral communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability in complex experimental design, gas phase and surface characterization techniques, catalyst testing.
* Demonstrated good work planning and coordination.
* Good publication record in related field(s). Ph.D. degree in Physical Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Physics or Physics received within previous 3 years or expected to be obtained within upcoming 6 months.
* Strong background in related experimentation.
