The College of Arts and Humanities at the University of Brighton is currently seeking two External Examiners for a newly developed BA (Hons) Media, Industry and Innovation course (subject to validation). The first appointment is for the degree validation event in February 2015. The second appointment is for a four year external examiner contract.
The BA (Hons) Media, Industry and Innovation is an exciting new course designed to complement our existing Media Studies BA (Hons) and MA provision. The new degree has a distinct focus on Media Studies in relation to industries, innovation and professional media practice. The course provides a cutting-edge curriculum preparing students to work within and lead this dynamic sector by combining theoretical study with emerging academic methodologies, critical-practice, media analysis and business vision.
We seek an examiners with curriculum and research expertise in some of the following areas, including: digital media/convergence, contextual studies into industry practices and cultures, new models for audience engagement, media business, media innovation and enterprise.
Applicants for both positions are expected to demonstrate prior experience of external examining within these fields.
The appointment for course external examiner will run from September 2015 for 4 years.
