Cary Grant Film Challenge - North by Northwest Comes to The Southwest
Please share this link with your filmmaking students and consider entering yourself!
---
In the run-up to the Cary Grant Comes Home For The Weekend festival, we are launching a film challenge for micro movies inspired by an aspect of North by Northwest – one of the most iconic Hitchcock / Grant collaborations. Whether you work in film, animation, photography or digital arts or are just an avid Cary Grant or Hitchcock fan, you are invited to share your videos as part of the Cary Grant Comes Home For The Weekend festival. So throw on your favourite vintage outfit and strike a pose, get creative on a train journey, or show us how Bristol has inspired you in the same way it did Cary.
Can you write, shoot and edit a 90-second film inspired by Cary Grant’s North by Northwest by the end of September? The challenge is free for anyone to enter and we are accepting entries from the 1 September until the deadline of Friday 3 October 2014, 5pm.
The main rules are that it must be under 90 seconds and must include at least one of the following:
• A suit
• A classic quote from North by Northwest
• A compass
• A field
• A train
• Sunglasses
• Matches
Full challenge rules and submission details available here: http://www.carycomeshome.co.uk/film-challenge.php or email: [log in to unmask]
Cary Grant Selfies - If you are not up for the full-blown film challenge, then join us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Vine. We want you to send pictures and videos of yourself inspired by Cary Grant – snap yourself in your best classic Hollywood outfit; recreate classic film scenes such as the crop-duster in North by Northwest; or if you are in Bristol, then pap yourself next to the Cary Grant statue in At-Bristol Millennium Square. Just make sure you use the #carycomescome hashtag. We’ll feature our favourites on Twitter and Facebook.

We'd be most grateful if you could share this post widely to your academic networks and social media.
Many thanks,
