Hi Martha,

We are just launching our 5 year HLF funded Doncaster 1914-18 project and as part of that we plan to create digital content for our website (which will be developed as part of the project) for all of our live events. We have a range of ideas from videoing and streaming events live, to recording and putting up after as a record. We are also exploring live interviews with the public to capture reactions to events and much more.

We see this as a good way of involving a wider audience and people who might not be able to make an event, as well as creating a historical record of 'moments in time'

Best wishes,

Peter

Hi again,

Very pleased to see the response to my blog post on twitter, glad to see people are finding it useful. Nothing from anyone on the events materials question though, does that mean people generally aren't doing much of anything with their events related content? I haven't found that many examples out there, so this wouldn't entirely surprise me.

If not, why do we think that is? Is it just not useful content, or not something that audiences are interested in? Or is it more about resources?

Organisations put so much effort into their live events, but then they are over so quickly. Is that just something we have to accept? Or is there more that could be done with that information and effort? Have you seen other organisations doing interesting videos, podcasts, blog write ups or similar after their events?

Thanks,

Martha
