To the many information colleagues I have met over the years.
You may know that I have sold Sue Hill Recruitment (SHR). The upsurge in the economy has coincided nicely with our life with the new owners - Progility plc. TFPL, who Progility also bought in 2013, have moved into 80 Borough High St here in London. We still work as very independent and separate companies who enjoy networking over the coffee machine.
The synergy of having two information focussed teams based together while continuing to work as separate entities has been incredibly positive for our recruitment clients and hirers as well as our candidates. We are working on an increasing variety of roles and sourcing some very interesting candidates of all levels. Both teams will always welcome those of you who are currently hiring or seeking work.
Having recently reached that famous Beatles age (no - not the seventeen one) I'm taking the opportunity to slip off into the happy land of retirement. Over seventeen years ago in January 1998 I set up Sue Hill Recruitment with the aim of offering the best service possible to clients and candidates; to grow and encourage team members, create a happy and successful work environment and also, of course, to make a profit but not at the expense of any of the preceding points. I am very proud to have achieved this and to have built a dedicated and professional team who are carrying on in the same vein.
Along the way I dealt not just with the most recent recession but also had a tangle with bowel cancer. Now I am working towards full retirement after the sale of SHR plc. I have reduced my working days to just one per week, with the odd month off altogether (the most recent on the French canals - sheer bliss) and am enjoying catching up with the many things that I have not had time for until now.
All through my career in information related work I have made every effort to give of my time, knowledge and counsel to those I encountered along the way. I've seen people start out and have been delighted to have a hand in helping them progress. I've networked myself to a standstill and spoken endlessly at conferences for the benefit of others. Thus I can retire happily in the knowledge that my work is done and now it is time to concentrate on me.
The team here will continue the good work and if you have not already done so, you are very welcome to join the Sue Hill Recruitment Network on LinkedIn. We always welcome contributions and comments from people who have something to say. We tweet on SueHillRec and SHRMarketResearch.
Thank you for your support over the many years I have worked in the information world. I wouldn't be where I am without it.
Regards
Sue
