Graham Haldane is raising this at Library Managers meeting on Thursday to see if we can do anything regionally. I will be most unhappy to lose this service and am very keen to find a replacement, as being able to text borrowers is one of our most valued services.

All the best

Paula

Subject: NHSmail

Just forwarding information about NHSmail see below. Out of interest how many people use it for text messaging services? We have set ours up recently.

Dear NHSmail user

The current NHSmail service will be replaced next year and we are well into the procurement part of the process.

By the end of September we will have a shortlist of options for the replacement service and we would like to invite our users to evaluate them and provide feedback. Your feedback will be included in the service assessment work and will help us identify our preferred supplier for the new service.

There are three evaluation categories which you can apply to take part in:

1. Evaluation of potential services when accessed via a web portal

2. Evaluation of potential services when accessed via an email client (e.g. Outlook)

3. Supplier tender response evaluation

You may apply to participate in one or more of the categories. To help you decide which may be of interest there is more information below.

1. Evaluation of potential services when accessed via a web portal

When: A time to suit you between 3/11/14 – 15/11/14

Where: Online

Commitment required: Maximum two hours

Number of participants required: 600

Participant profile: Existing users and LOAs that access NHSmail via the portal at www.nhs.net

If you are chosen to participate, we will send you a link to the service you will be asked to evaluate, as well as login details, steps to work through and guidance to help you. You will need to record your scores and feedback on an online survey.

2. Evaluation of potential services when accessed via an email client (e.g. Outlook)

When: 13/11/2014

Where: HSCIC offices, Leeds City Centre (travel expenses can be claimed)

Commitment required: Half a day

Number of participants required: 50

Participant profile: Existing users and LOAs that access NHSmail via an email client such as Outlook

3. Supplier tender response evaluation

Where: Online, plus a meeting in Leeds or London or via phone / video conference

Commitment required: The days of commitment required throughout this period will be confirmed through invitation
