Dear all,
I am wondering about the value and interest of a lantern slides collection that we have here in the archives. They date from the early 20th century and most of them represent landscapes and people of India. I imagine they were used for vocation promotion or fundraising campaigns at an early stage of the Congregation. I have absolutely nothing documenting this collection and I have to decide whether to keep it or not.
I know a similar query has been posted on the list about 2 years ago but I could only find one answer to it and I would really appreciate if the lantern slides specialists of the list would care to share their knowledge again. What makes the value (archival value I mean, I have no intention to sell it) of such a collection? What would be the specialist repositories in the UK for lantern slides?
Many thanks in advance for you time and answers.
Kind regards
