Every year a significant body of research is carried out by students undertaking dissertations as part of their qualifications in archives and records management. Sadly this research is rarely disseminated as widely as it deserves and so, at this seminar, a number of UCL students and recent alumni will report on the subject and findings of their MA dissertation research.

Information Governance for Social and Economic Research Best Practice: The Administrative Data Research Centre for England project
The new Administrative Data Research Centre for England, part of a UK-wide network bringing together academia, government departments, national statistics authorities, funders and the wider community, aims to facilitate new economic and social research based on the intelligent use of routinely collected government administrative data. This seminar will introduce the embedded information government research project investigating the ethical challenges and e-infrastructure best practices for linking together and using such government data in research.
