Hi Kate, in addition you might want to say something about what other people can/cannot do with stuff on your site. A creative commons licence often does the trick

Subject: [MCG] Website terms and conditions?
Dear all,
I come here to scavenge: as some of you may have noticed, NMDC has upgraded its web pages a bit: http://www.nationalmuseums.org.uk/ -- but we've realised we need some privacy policy and terms and conditions to go in the links at the bottom. Basically we just want to say 'we're not doing anything nefarious you wouldn't expect - we not flogging your details or tracking you round the web like Facebook'. Does anyone have some very standard blurb to that effect for the museum sector that I could doctor and put in? Is there anything else we ought to be saying that I haven't thought of?
Many thanks!
Kate
