Subject: Powering iPads in exhibition
We Could do with some advise about powering iPads,
We have 5 iPads with an Augmented Reality app in an exhibition.
We are aware that the app is demanding on power.
The devices always have a power lead in and we have found that they need to be charged overnight, so we have to leave the main power on in the exhibition which is not ideal. The lighting is then also on as it's the same power track which is highly complex / costly to separate.
We have taken the following steps for each device...
Turned the wifi off ( so the device is not using power to constantly search for wifi)
set to go into sleep mode when visitors not in,
Lowered the brightness on screen.
Our power cables have to be long (over a metre) and we have tried different grades and don't think this is the problem.
This is a long term exhibition, and after three months,we want to work towards turning the main power off overnight.
Any solutions can't involve site based staff doing anything daily with each device.
Any suggestions we could try ?
