For those not abandoning London for foreign climes this weekend the
LNHS is doing an evening meeting in Richmond Park tonight demonstrating
the use of pheremones in two rarely-seen beetles - The Great Root Borer
(Prionus coriarius) - ofter larger than Stag Beetles - and the Rusty
Red Click beetle (Elater ferrugineues) which you will only see if you
use pheremone lures.
It's a rare opportunity to see 2 insect pheremone systems working in
the field on a nice evening in a nice place. It's super-short notice
because we have to rely on the beetles being co-operative.
Date: Friday 25th July
Location: Richmond Park, Pembroke Lodge Information Centre
Time: 18:00-c.21:00 (parking available until 9pm)
