Dear all Just thought i'd highlight some of our new impact case studies we have been working on. Apart from the Impact Prize winners http://www.esrc.ac.uk/news-and-events/events/celebrating-impact-prize/prize-winners-2014.aspx we have: a) Keeping charitable donations tax-free - http://www.esrc.ac.uk/news-and-events/features-casestudies/case-studies/31202/keeping-charitable-donations-tax-free.aspx Professor Kimberley Scharf at the ESRC Centre for Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy (CAGE) has been widely credited with helping to reverse government proposals of a cap on tax relief for charitable giving b) Research evidence for the pupil premium http://www.esrc.ac.uk/news-and-events/features-casestudies/case-studies/31201/research-evidence-for-the-pupil-premium.aspx The Institute for Fiscal Studies and the ESRC Centre for the Microeconomic Analysis of Public Policy influenced the debate on the eventual shape of the 'pupil premium' scheme by confirming for policymakers that decisions made were based on solid analytical foundations. c) Boosting economic opportunities for Manchester http://www.esrc.ac.uk/news-and-events/features-casestudies/case-studies/31193/boosting-economic-opportunities-for-manchester.aspx Key research inputs from the ESRC Spatial Economics Research Centre helped underpin development and use of the Manchester Independent Economic Review d) Supporting justice for Bosnian war crime victims http://www.esrc.ac.uk/news-and-events/features-casestudies/case-studies/31107/supporting-justice-for-bosnian-war-crime-victims.aspx An ESRC-funded project has helped strengthen the links between legal processes and war crime victims in Bosnia, supporting transparency and legitimacy for the State Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina Hope you enjoy! There is quite a breadth....
