Colleagues, I noticed that the list is publicising cancer at the moment and there is a paper on breast cancer in the diversity/equality journal.
Just in case colleagues are not aware we have been publishing a few papers on cancer from the Scottish Health and Ethnicity Linkage Study-the main paper from this series is open access.
The URL is given below:

Subject: Ethnic Minority Cancer Awareness Month
Dear all
We are now in Ethnic Minority Cancer Awareness Month (July), so thought I would send some useful information for those participating , or interested in BME research. Visit Cancer Equality's website for further information.
http://www.cancerequality.co.uk/
Please help us to recognize EMCAM even if you have not accessed the limited funding.
For Cancer Information, the National Cancer Intelligence Network (NCIN) has some validated information on Ethnicity

BME Cancer Communities website www.bmecancer.com will be updated as soon as a new website developer joins us to share the ever increasing workload. We have a number of recent BME research reports we assisted or supported, over the last 3 years, that we plan to highlight. Two new important national breast cancer studies I have worked on, are expected to report this year.
For members who have not seen the new Hear Me Now BME Prostate Cancer report (Communities Call to Action). It can be reports can be downloaded with last years Hear me Now report via the following link.

For other useful recent BME reports visit the Leeds based Black Health initiative website

For those who have an interest in tracking NHS and Social Service reforms and how the new Joined up NHS and Local Authority Social Care services are performing; if you are not already aware; you can access information via local authority websites. Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNAs) are very informative and Health and Well Being Board reports make accessing information on the priorities in your region an easier task. Health Watch members will no doubt be pouring over them even as I type this message.
Here in Nottingham , the Nottingham Insight website is great for quick stats. You may have a similar Insight website for your city.

Those who are not new to JISCMAIL will already be aware of the Manchester University website.
Have a great weekend.

Well done Mark et al
I know it has been a long time coming and an incredible amount of work has gone into the development of the journal. I remember the early days ...
We are selective about our website content, but happy to promote the journal to our contacts via the website if that is OK with you and the Publishers.
Perhaps other members/organisations with websites could do the same to promote the journal.PR is more effective if there is photographic representation, but will be guided by your good self Mark.
Have a restful weekend.

Delighted to let all our devoted followers - and everyone else - know that the latest edition of the journal Diversity & Equality in Health & Care - Issue 11,2, is now available online! If you or your institution have a subscription, enjoy! I'm afraid the publishers have to make their money somehow, so you can download individual articles for $20 - but we shall ensure that at least some of the content will be made open access free to read, shortly (including the editorial).
