Could The Library Campaign tactfully suggest that there are volunteers
and volunteers?
We all celebrate the many extras they bring to a
professionally-staffed library service. Worth reminding the world that
is what volunteers are for, and what they want to do.
Nobody (least of all the Women's Institutes) supports the idea of
making people manage their whole service, as some are now being forced
to do (with a gun held to their head).
Not something to celebrate...
