Over 80 years of Scottish participation and achievement at the Commonwealth Games will be celebrated in the exhibition Hosts and Champions which opens at the Old Fruitmarket, Glasgow, on Thursday 24th July. Drawn from the Commonwealth Games Scotland Archive held by the University of Stirling, the exhibition displays a selection of photographs, designs, clothing, papers and artefacts which evoke a rich story of Scotland’s involvement in the Games, including as hosts in 1970 and 1986.
There will also be a series of talks on various aspects of the history of Scottish sport daily at 3pm starting on Thursday 24th July with a panel of archivist, curators and historians discussing Scotland’s sporting heritage.
