A research assistant position in medical statistics is available as part of the NIHR Research Methods Fellowships for a highly-talented individual who is seeking two years of research training. The Fellowship is based in the Centre for Biostatistics in the Institute of Population Health.
The position offers two years' salary, payment of registration fees for a Master's programme (if required), twelve months experience of working as a researcher in medical statistics, a generous budget for advanced training and an opportunity to supervise a paid Intern for three months. You will develop theoretical, practical and applied skills in medical statistics and will be encouraged to apply for PhD studentships at the end of your position.
The Fellowship is supervised by Dr Richard Emsley (Lecturer in Biostatistics) and Professor Graham Dunn (Professor of Biomedical Statistics).
Applicants should have a good (2:1 or above) honours degree (or non-UK equivalent) in mathematics, statistics or from other fields that contain substantial mathematical or statistical content. Applicants with an appropriate technical qualification and work experience, or equivalent qualifications, are welcomed.
You will need to meet the entry requirements for the relevant Masters programme, and be able to demonstrate enthusiasm for applied health research.
