'The Faculty of Health & Social Care at The Open University presents this free lunchtime seminar:
'Exploring the social context of living with behavioural variant frontotemporal dementia'.
Hilda Hayo is Chief Admiral Nurse/CEO at Dementia UK, and her research explores the experiences of families living with behavioural
variant frontotemporal dementia (bv-FTD). There is little research around the lived experience of bv-FTD, and Hilda has sought to
explore the effects of living with bv-FTD on social networks. She used a multiple or comparative case study approach to examine an
individual family's experience and then compare the experiences between case studies.
Hilda has been a nurse for 34 years, and prior to joining Dementia UK was Director of Nursing, Quality and Professional Development at
Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. She has a wealth of clinical experience including setting up a nurse-led service for younger people with dementia
and winning a tender for a Department of health pilot project for Dementia Care Advisors in Northamptonshire.

Venue: Library seminar rooms 1 & 2, Walton Hall Campus, Milton Keynes, MK7 6AA
