Using Multimedia Tools to Present Information - Phil Bradley

Course Outline:
This one-day, hands-on workshop explores tools that can be used to present information in ways that are not purely textual.  Delegates will have plenty of opportunity to practice throughout the day.

Programme includes:
    Graphics - exploration, practical work to include manipulating images, creating content, photographic slideshows
    Image sound and video search - options and exploration
    Screencasting software - overview, options, exploration
    Presentation software -overview, examples, exploration to include speaking avatars, stickynote software, chat facilities
    Creating podcasts
    Recording video
    Pinterest
    Other tools

Who should attend:
This would include school librarians, special librarians, teachers and trainers. Prior knowledge of the subject matter is not required or expected. Delegates are encouraged to bring along their own images to play with, and if they wish to try out their own cameras or smartphones they are welcome to do so.

This course supports the following elements of CILIP's Professional Knowledge and Skills Base (PKSB):
8.      Literacies and Learning: 8.3 Digital literacy
12.     IT and Communication: 12.4 Social media and collaborative tools
12.     IT and Communication: 12.5 Communication skills

Course Presenter: Phil Bradley
Phil Bradley is an information specialist and has worked in the area of electronic publications for over 20 years. He became an internet consultant in 1996, specialising in search. He is a trainer, writer, web page designer and is a search engine optimiser.

Costs (including lunch and refreshments):
UKeiG members £200 + VAT at the current rate; others £245 + VAT at the current rate
