Keith,
There are no coal or gas reserves that I am aware of beneath Cornwall.
Mineral rights for the Duchy, where not otherwise owned, exist between the
low and high water marks around the coast; below the low water mark the
rights belong to the Crown. Mineral rights in Cornwall are complicated in
other ways, not least that an area may have several owners, all of whom
emigrated over a century ago.

Subject: Coal, Gas, and the Duchy of Cornwall
British coal and gas reserves were nationalised many years ago, but does
anyone know the position about such reserves under Duchy of Cornwall land?
Do they belong to the Duchy, or to the Crown, as in the rest of the Country?
