Sandra,
I'm a little confused by your post. Please elaborate what you mean.
I'm a fellow MA student and I thought the idea of listserv was to engage with fellow archivists across the world and to seek and give advice.
I see nothing wrong as a student in asking others for their ideas. I had considered asking for ideas myself for my own dissertation but decided not to as I don't think I need to. But we should encourage discussion with fellow professionals, whether experienced (and qualified) or not. As a (hopefully) soon-to-be archives professional myself, I am grateful to be in contact with more experienced members of the community. As a struggling profession, I think it's important we all support each other.
If I have misinterpreted your email, I am truly sorry. The subject line of your email says "Re: Consensus by IP Deception". I don't know what that refers to, but seeing as it said "re", I'm wondering if I may have missed an original posting?
Sue.
