Hi there,
Apologies for cross-posting
Places still available, especially for speakers!
A reminder that the University of Hertfordshire is pleased to be holding a Library TeachMeet on Wednesday 25th June 2014. It is a free event sponsored by the CILIP Information Literacy Group.
What is our theme?
'Information Literacy meets …Employability and Graduate Skills’
We are hoping to focus on presentations which cover how information literacy skills can be taught as part of a wider graduate attribute skills package, specifically to enhance the employability prospects of the students. We will be exploring this theme with other professionals who are also working towards similar agendas in their own institutions. By sharing ideas, good practice and expertise the event would provide a great learning and networking opportunity for all.
We are looking for plucky presentations from all sectors about any aspect of employability including:
•Integration into user education
•Different and innovative approaches to training
•Alignment of online training with graduate attributes
•Examples where information skills have been successfully demonstrated to make a positive impact on students for example looking at relevance, student engagement, feedback and timing.
The event will take place in the new Law Court Building, on the De Havilland campus. Registration will take place from 1.30pm and there will also be an optional tour of the De Havilland campus, including the Learning Resource Centre. Refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon. We aim to finish by 4.30pm.
