Trainee Archivist (fixed term)

Guardian News & Media have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Archivist to join the organisation on a fixed term basis and develop their skills with us. The Trainee will assist the Archivists with the operational running of the archive service and get involved in a variety of day to day support tasks. This is an ideal role for someone wanting practical archive experience with a desire to develop their career in this area.
You’ll have a demonstrable interest in applying to study for a professional qualification in archives and records management, or will already be pursuing a postgraduate archive qualification by distance learning. The Trainee will be offered the opportunity to attend relevant courses and visit other archives in the London area.
This role will be offered as a one year fixed term contract, starting in September 2014.
