RECORDS MANAGEMENT TRAINEE (Vacancy Ref: 030373)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to support the implementation of records management and information legislation in the University of Edinburgh. This post is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated graduate planning a career in archives and records management to gain work experience in a busy and stimulating environment.
This training post is intended to provide a year’s experience for someone requiring that to obtain or support a place on a recognised UK archives or records management programme. It is not designed for those who have completed or will shortly complete such a programme. Relevant training and development support will be provided, such as attendance at some professional meetings and visits to other archives.
You will have a good honours degree, an eye for detail, good communication and interpersonal skills, a determination to undertake a postgraduate archives or records management qualification, and a commitment to archive or records management work as a career, perhaps gained through volunteering, with some knowledge of records management, data protection or freedom of information.
Further details, including the application process are published at www.ed.ac.uk/jobs.
This is a full time post – 35 hours per week. The post is available from July 2014.
Closing date: 5pm Sunday 29 June 2014
