Hi moderators of FM List,
I work at CASE for Refugees in Western Australia and we are seeking research assistance with regards to the matters of two separate clients.
The first are a UNHCR registered family from Liberia, currently living in Guinea, who we need to establish strong humanitarian claims for. Their fears are largely based on incidents which occurred in the past and unfortunately this will not be sufficient to have them granted visas in Australia. We have checked all public sources available and cannot locate anything on the current situation in Liberia that would assist their case. Does anyone have any research materials, either published or unpublished, that indicate that women and children who have lived in exile will face harsh discrimination if they returned to Liberia?
The second client is a woman from Iran who converted to Christianity who is seeking protection. She and her son are currently in Australia but their husband is in Iran. Her husband tried to leave Iran to join his family and had his bank account was frozen. Their house was also seized by the government. Does anyone have any evidence, anecdotal or otherwise, of this happening to other Iranian citizens when the state wishes to compel their return. We also seek any information on security units or powers within the Sepah bank and the agency HARASSAT which is somehow connected to Iranian intelligence?
For the Iranian matter we have a deadline date of May 25th. I can be contacted at [log in to unmask]
Kind regards,
