PhD studentships available

Applications are invited for 4 fully funded 3 year PhD studentships within the Institute for Informatics and Digital Innovation. at Edinburgh Napier University.
The Institute is home to the Centre for Emergent Computing (http://www.iidi.napier.ac.uk/c/main/site/cec), directed by Professor Emma Hart, that has particular interests in Evolutionary Computation, Hyper-Heuristics, Artificial Immune Systems and Lifelong learning, applying these techniques to a range of application areas including optimisation, robotics , and with a particular interest in optimisation in relation to reduction of carbon emissions.
The Centre maintains strong links with industry, participating in consultancy and industrial projects, as well as obtaining funding from EPSRC and the EU.
The studentship will cover tuition fees to home/EU level and will include a standard living allowance (stipend), £13,863 per annum. Overseas students are eligible to apply, but will be liable to pay the difference between home/EU and overseas fees. Note that fees are subject to change annually throughout the programme of study.
The studentship is expected to start on 1st October 2014. All applications must be received by Monday, 31st May 2014, with interviews expected to take place on Wednesday, 19th June 2014 through the website
