Dear All
We are currently advertising to job share our Collections Database Manager role. Our current manager is looking to work Wednesdays to Fridays and so we are looking for someone to fulfill the same role on Mondays and Tuesdays and operate a seamless changeover each week.
It's advertised as a 1-year fixed-term post with the possibility of extension as we see how the job share works out. Working with just one assistant, the successful applicant must be hands-on and really have an aptitude with databases and developing database-driven solutions. We use Mimsy XG, FileMaker, Access and Crystal Reports in a very wide variety of ways and for most of the Gallery's different departments in some capacity.
The Collections Database Management team sits within the Digital Programmes umbrella as much of the team's work on our collection of 330,000 portraits (198,000 portraits catalogued to date) sees its way on to public-facing digital developments, including the Portrait Explorer, our in-Gallery public access touchscreen service, the Gallery's search the collection facility on the website and specialised websites for our digital print and image licensing services.
Closing date is 9.00am on Tuesday 6 May.
