Inclusive arts libraries : challenges in HE
Friday 16th May 2014, 10:00 to 16:30
Central St Martins, London
University of the Arts London is pleased to announce a free forum to share best practice on becoming more inclusive. Although the event is primarily aimed at arts librarians, it may also be of interest to colleagues in other institutions.
In creative arts institutions we face a number of challenges in making our libraries accessible to the widest range of our students. These include the continuing importance of print materials and the high number of dyslexic students studying creative arts subjects.
This forum will look at best practice and discuss progress and challenges in our libraries, including the view from a practising artist and library user. There will also be an opportunity for all participants to share their experiences and to visit the Library and Learning Zone at Central Saint Martins.
Speakers: Jess Crilly, Sara Osman, Leila Kassir (University of the Arts London); Sam Winston, artist and UAL alumnus; Coco Nijhoff (University for the Creative Arts) ; Qona Rankin (Royal College of Art); Victoria Worsfold (National Art Library).
The forum is free to attend, but you must book in advance. Book online at: http://InclusiveArtsLibraries.eventbrite.co.uk
