Graduate Trainee: Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service at The Hive
This post is one of seven traineeships being offered through the Growing Worcestershire's Treasures project.
The posts will provide graduates committed to a career in the heritage sector opportunities to gain work experience and develop skills and knowledge in specialist heritage areas.
In addition post holders will be enrolled on a Post Graduate Certificate in Management and Leadership (Heritage) with the University of Worcester. This is a new course offering taught heritage module combined with broader work-place learning focusing on the development of leadership and management skills.
This traineeship aims to provide a comprehensive experience of work across the archive and archaeology sector, with particular emphasis on archives. The post-holder can expect to be introduced to skills relating to managing archive collections (including conservation), marketing the service through learning and outreach activities and developing resources and guidance for customers. In addition there will be opportunity to work with archive and archaeology customers as well as other teams to develop knowledge of the Historic Environment and Records Management.
This post will not only help to develop specialist archive skills, but will also provide opportunity to develop generic skills including writing funding bids and managing small projects.
