We have an exciting opportunity for three statisticians to join the statistical team within the Health Services Research Unit at the University of Aberdeen. The team are involved in a wide range of statistical activities including the design, conduct and analysis of randomised trials, meta-analysis, decision modelling, non-randomised studies and methodological research projects in these areas; with collaborators from other national and international centres.
These posts offer excellent opportunities for career development as a member of a research group with an established international reputation in health services research. Opportunities exist for candidates interested in statistical programming and/or methodological research of practical relevance to the work of the Unit. More experienced candidates will be encouraged to develop applied statistical research projects to compliment the existing research work. These roles offer the opportunity to register for a postgraduate degree. You should have the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
You should have a good degree in statistics or a quantitative subject (minimum for both appointments). To be appointed as a Research Fellow (Grade 6/7) you must have a PhD or MSc in statistics or quantitative discipline and relevant work experience or the skills and experience to work at that level. Appointment on a particular grade will be dependent on qualifications and experience
These posts are to cover a period of research and will be available for three years.
Appointment made at a Research Assistant level salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 5 scale (£25,759 - £28,972 per annum), with placement according to qualifications and experience. Appointment made at a Research Fellow level- salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6/7 scale (£30,728 - £45,053 per annum), with placement according to qualifications and experience
